Would you like to be in the Kansas City St. Patrick's Day Parade? If you are a family, business, organization, school, band, drill team, trade, media...whatever, you are welcome to apply to be in the Parade.
Quality over Quantity
Too often in the past, entrants have not reflected the theme, or indeed, the history, nature and purpose of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. While we appreciate the celebratory nature of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade the Parade truly is meant to be a celebration of Ireland, and our Irish heritage. Thus, we are requiring each entrant to reflect our theme and decorate their entry appropriately in keeping with Ireland and our patron saint, St. Patrick. We suggest your float include Irish music, the tri-color flag of Ireland, “Happy St. Patrick’s Day” signs, leprechauns, pots of gold, green crepe paper, etc.
The objective of the Kansas City St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee is to successfully present the Parade in a quality, safe, entertaining and enjoyable manner for all that attend. Our focus is on the families and thousands of children that line the streets of Kansas City to celebrate the heritage and tradition of the Irish in America on the feast day of St. Patrick.
